Cities – Villages – Markets – Surroundings

In the magical hill country of the Piemonte, the journey is already the destination. From one wine valley to another hazelnut area, from one village to another town. Just be surprised and take the shortcuts, go to one of the many family restaurants around lunchtime and let the cook decide what you eat.

Just a small list: Barolo, the chic Alba (also from the white truffle festival and Nutella), La Morra, Barbaresco, Bra and Grinzane Cavour with its imposing castle, Ast, Canali with impressive wine cellars, the Roman city of Acqui Terme, the high Roccoverano, Spigno Monferrato and around Cravanzana of course with Bossolasco, Dogliani, Murrazano. At more than an hour’s drive you are in Turin, with its countless palazzos, its legendary cafes Caffe Torino, San Carlo and Caffe Confetteria Al Bicerin, the Egypt museum, beautiful squares with tempting terraces, luxury shops in Via Roma and this is where Eataly originated. , the trendsetter of the Slow Food movement. You can also visit cities such as Genoa, Milan, San Remo, Monaco or Cuneo. They are a bit further away, but can still be done from our agriturismo.

In this region there are the weekly (farmers) markets, monthly antique markets, but above all there are the village festivals such as sagra’s and palio’s. Every town or village has one. They are listed on www.piemonteinfesta.com , so when you are here there is always such a special event somewhere. In August is the big hazelnut festival in Cortemilia. We have an up-to-date overview of the (weekly) markets in the area.
