Day at the beach
The Ligurian coast is truly Italian, elegant, busy and finding a parking space is not always easy (but usually free, which is why it is always full). For practically all the nicer beaches you have to rent a beach bed with or without an umbrella. We ourselves are a fan of Laigueglia near Alassio (1.5 hours drive), with many nice eateries and terraces. Other beautiful seaside resorts are Noli or Pietro Ligure. A great activity on the coast is the cycle route (round trip) on the old coastal railway from San Lorenzo al Mare to Ospedaletti; you will pass through Taggia (world famous olive oil) and the fashionable city of San Remo. Bicycles can be rented at the start and end point.
